Biography
Currently, Dr. Sanchez is the owner of Health Disparities Research Group based in Los Angeles, CA. She is a health educator having worked as a Project Director in the Drew-Meharry-Morehouse Consortium Cancer Center, Charles R. Drew University, Los Angeles, CA; the Alzheimer Respite Program in the Mental Health Association of Yolo County, Davis, CA. Until more recently, she was a Visiting Research Epidemiologist in the Department of Biobehavioral Sciences at UCLA, and Research Assistant Professor in the University of Southern California School of Social Work, Los Angeles, CA. Dr. Sanchez’ major areas of research include cancer survivorship and employment, cancer treatment adherence and depression, quality of life and cancer survivorship, and role of social support and compliance with cancer treatment. She is a member of the American Psychosocial Oncology Society, the American Public Health Association and the American Cancer Society. In 2001, Dr. Sanchez received a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Health Behavior from the University of Southern California, Los Angeles, and in 1990 received a Master in Public Health in Community Health from Yale University, New Haven, CT.
