Biography
Dr. Moore is a geriatrician, health services researcher and Associate Professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine and the Integrated Substance Abuse Program at UCLA.  She also directs the NIA-funded Medical Student in Aging Research (MSTAR) Program at UCLA, UCHSC and UCSF and is chair of UCLA’s Institutional Review Board for health services research.

Dr. Moore is a nationally known expert in the area of alcohol and older adults.  She is currently conducting an NIAAA-funded randomized trial testing the efficacy of an educational intervention to reduce risky alcohol use among older adults in primary care settings and has recently been awarded a MidCareer Investigator Award in Patient-Oriented Research (K24) from NIAAA to expand her research among older Latinos and to mentor junior faculty in alcohol and aging.
