Biography
Currently, Dr. Lagomasino is Visiting Professor in Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences in the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, Los Angeles, CA. In this position, Dr. Lagomasino works as Supervisor of the Resident Outpatient Clinic, Course Leader of the Psychopharmacology Resident Curriculum, Team Leader of the Spanish-speaking Outpatient Clinic, and serves on the Residency Selection Committee. Dr. Lagomasino received her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, FL, in 1992; was Assistant Professor in Psychiatry and Human Behavior in the Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science from 1997-2002; was awarded a fellowship in the Psychopharmacology Unit of the Depression Clinical and Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, in 1996-1997; earned a Master of Science in Health Services from the UCLA School of Public Health in 2003; and received and Academy of Psychosomatic Medicine Fellowship Award and a University of Southern California Department of Psychiatry Outstanding Teaching Award in 2005. Dr. Lagomasino’s major areas of research interest are improving the quality of mental health services for underserved minorities, integration of mental health and primary care services in public sector systems, evidence-based treatments for depressive disorders, and patient education and empowerment strategies.
