Biography
Dr. Duru graduated from medical school at the University of California, San Francisco, in 1996 and completed internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago in 1999. After one year of Chief Residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and another year there seeing patients, he completed a National Research Service Award as a primary care research fellow at UCLA. Dr. Duru joined the UCLA Division of GIM/HSR in 2004. His areas of research interest include enhancing physical activity among minority seniors and designing interventions to reduce disparities in medication adherence and clinical outcomes among patients with diabetes.
