| As Program Director of the UCLA/Drew Center for Health
Improvement for Minority Elders (CHIME), it is my pleasure
to welcome you to our home on the Internet. Whether you are
looking for specific information or simply want to learn more
about the field of healthcare among minority elders, I hope
that you will find this website both interesting and informative.
Working alongside our sister RCMAR centers, our mission is
to help reduce health disparities between minority and non-minority
older adults. The focus of our work at CHIME is on training
and mentorship of minority faculty who will advance their
career by conducting research on minority elders.
To this end, this website is intended to be of use to older
minority adults who I hope will find this site a comfortable
environment to seek advice relating to healthcare; to other
RCMAR Centers and healthcare practitioners who will be able
make use of our information and research regarding the healthcare
of minority elders; and to Faculty members who I hope will
visit the site frequently to access up-to-date information
relating to their current projects, as well relevant administrative
materials.
The information on this website will be updated regularly,
offering you the most relevant and important information available.
I encourage you to browse the site and to visit it often to
discover the work that we, and others, have been doing in
this important and exciting field.
